"Conclusion
I really can not fit in all the features, sound, styles and everything that is going on in the Tyros 4 as it really is simply so powerful. I think the are a few simple ways to sum it up. I believe anyone who hears this keyboard and questions if it is better than a Tyros 3 can not hear what everyone else can hear. It simply blows the Tyros 3 away. After 2 years of development I would not have thought such changes could have happened but Yamaha have done it again. My advice is to get your wallet ready as you will struggle not to want one"

When you play a T4 right next to a T3, you will be able to make that decision for yourselves. But sadly, here at SZ, a 'biased' review is anything you don't agree with, and an 'honest' one is where they come to the same conclusion as you...

Personally, I would prefer to read something by someone that has nothing to GAIN by extolling a product. But that's just me... This might be better described as an 'advertisement' given the sales pitch at the end. Now, that doesn't mean it is not ACCURATE, but once you put in, in effect 'It's G-R-E-A-T!.... (call me!)' you've given up your right to call it 'unbiased'.

Pretty soon we'll hear the real deal reviews buy owners who have turned in their T3's for a T4......nothing like hearing it from the consumers for the truth. Especially after they laid out so much money.

Thanks for the link, John...it's nice to see the dealers are extremely pleased with the Tyros4.

Everyone, dealers or not, that has heard the Tyros4, has been literally blown away.

Such a fantastic sounding instrument should sell very well, so the dealers should have every right to be pleased.

The guys at Yamaha home office, here in Canada, including those who did not work in the keyboard department, were astonished at the sounds and styles emanating from the Tyros4...even the guitar guys were very impressed.

Looks more and more likely that I'm getting one...still have to spend some actual time on it, but what I've heard so far is very convincing.

"...I believe anyone who hears this keyboard and questions if it is better than a Tyros 3 can not hear what everyone else can hear. It simply blows the Tyros 3 away."

I would question the validity of this statement. Everything I have heard on the T4 thus far I wouldn't say "blows" the T3 away at all. They still do sound similar with the exception of some additional new sounds on the T4 as well as installing some "gloss" over what was already exceptional in the first place.

No doubt about it, the T4 sounds like fantastic board but certainly the T3 wouldn't sound out of place next to it.

I feel bad for anyone that bought a Tyros3 in recent months...I hope they can salvage some cost when upgrading....Yamaha should compensate highly for T3/T4 upgrades. This quick turnaround could put a damper on loyal owners feelings in the future...is this their pattern?

The dealers were all blown away by the T3 when it came out, and the T2, and the T1...

What we as consumers are left to sort out is, exactly HOW good is the jump..? While each release IS a bit better than the previous, SOME of them make bigger leaps than others. Those are the models that get the best sales, not necessarily what the dealers WANT you to buy (they want you to buy every last one of them!).

If you trusted a dealer to tell you how good the new Tyros is/was, you'd have bought them ALL
